Brief description of site and current use
The barracks were probably built at the beginning of 20th century when the competent authorities decided that the military unit should be placed in Stříbro. In a brand new barracks of the 7th September 1906 moved the second squadron dragoon regiment 13.
In 60th of 20th century, the original "cavalry barracks" began to be used as barracks of military units with various specializations and expertise.
After 1989, after the fall of the communist regime, there was a radical reorganization of the Czechoslovak (and then only of the Czech) army. The army found the barracks as unnecessary and transferred ownership to the city Stříbro. Then, in year 1996, there were some buildings reconstructions. In March 1997, was a special school moved there, into one renovating object.
At the end of 2005 the Czech army left the area completely.
The barracks has many possibilities of using. There are two industrial zone, the first one has 8,3 ha (3,35 ha of that is still for a sale), usage of this area is for light industry and services. The second zone has more than 12 ha, usage for light industry and services too.
There is also zone for residence projects, especially for building of housing – of terraced houses.
