Projects of brownfield regeneration

Brownfield and in particular Megasite regeneration is assumed to take place most effectively by means of projects. A project refers to “groups comprising a mix of different specialist competences, which have to achieve a certain goal or carry out a specific task within limits set as to costs and time” (Sydow et al 2004: 1480). Projects are characterized by specific project ecologies, which include the institutional contexts in which projects take place, the networks in charge of carrying them out and the role projects play in generating knowledge for brownfield revitalization.
