Brief description of site and current use
This former flour-mill can be found in the centre of one of the most heavily influenced post-industrial cities Roubaix in northern France. The former house was attractively located in the centre of Roubaix, moreover the project was led by famous architectonical office TANK ARCHITECTES. The investor Maison Rouer bought the building from the Town Hall of Roubaix and invested apprx. 3,5 mil. euro into the modern style which is popular amongst younger generation nowadays. These homes enjoy a privileged generous deck angle. They will be the same streamlined aluminium, contrasting favourably with the brick and raw concrete. That the further south will extend the same door overhang above the parapet in an architectural gesture amplifying the effect of the lower floors of the balconies. The project was very welcomed in the city as it improves the surroundings and did not meet any problems. Moreover, project is now admired by general public.
